Police Teams annihilate Public Service Slow Pitch Co-ed Softball Tournament!

Commissioner Clayton Fernander and SELT extend congratulations to the members of the Slow Pitch Co-ed Softball Team for winning the Public Service Softball Tournament which was held on Saturday 28th October, 2023 and Saturday 4th November, 2023.

The inaugural event was held at the Baillou Hill Fields Sporting Complex in Nassau, Bahamas. Sixteen (16) teams, all from various governmental departments, participated in the highly energized, and publicized competition, with the goal of capturing the coveted Minister’s Floating Trophy. The Royal Bahamas Police Force was apart of the competition and entered two (2) teams; Police blue team and Police red team. Both teams advanced to the Championship round.

The Championship round was exhilarating as the two (2) police teams displayed their athleticism, hand and eye coordination, aswell as leg strength and resilience in running the bases, hitting in the parker and out the parker home runs.

At the end of the intense competition, the Police Red Team was crowned the 2023 Public Service Slow Pitch Co-ed Softball Champions while the Police Blue Team was awarded the runner up.

Ch. Supt. Damien Robinson was the manager for the Police Red Team that was coached by RASP Dornell Butler and Sgt. 3358 Alcott Forbes.

Cpl. 2005 Perez Butler was the manager of the Police Blue team that was coached by Insp. Anastasia Ferguson.

The RBPF swept away the competition by winning the coveted Ministers Floating Trophy, which was presented to the agency wining the competition, the Championship Trophy and the runner-up trophy.

Congrats to both Police Teams for sweeping the competition!
